I’m Johnny Blades.
Photographer, Videographer, Drone Pilot & Editor.
(Not always in that order, but always with precision.)
My journey into the world of content creation didn’t begin with a spark…. In fact, quite the opposite. Back in 2015, I sat in a photography class I didn’t even want to attend. Taught by someone who lacked both passion and expertise, I quickly decided I hated photography. But that experience taught me a lesson I still carry today. “Creativity thrives when it’s led by passion not curriculum”
Fast forward to mid 2016: I bought my first camera and dove headfirst into YouTube tutorials and online courses taught by real creatives who truly loved their craft. That’s where everything changed. I didn’t just learn how to take photos, I discovered what it meant to create with intention, to tell stories through visuals, and to bring ideas to life with clarity and style.
Truth is, I’ve always been drawn to content. In 2011 and 2012, I was already posting fun videos on YouTube, editing in Sony Vegas for hours just for the love of it. That creative drive has never left me. It simply evolved.
The Gear Journey
My very first camera! A Nikon Coolpix L810 which I still keep in the box. From there, I moved to a Nikon D3200, then stepped up to the Nikon D750 and Canon 5D MkIII in 2018. Today, I shoot with a Sony A7III and two Sony A7IV’s a mirrorless system that, in my opinion, is unmatched in performance and reliability.
Where I Am Now
Today, I’m a full-time professional photographer and videographer, working with commercial brands and clients both across the UK and internationally. I don’t just show up with a camera I come in with strategy, creativity, and a clear understanding of how powerful content drives business growth.
What sets me apart? It’s not just technical skill or great visuals, it’s the experience I bring, the eye for detail, and the ability to understand what your brand actually needs.
